Arena Rules During COVID-19
Rules for Practices, Scrimmages, and Games
The City is following State and MN Hockey rules and regulations for safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Review all information prior to visiting the facility. We appreciate your cooperation and support during this time.
- If you are sick and/or knowingly have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please do not enter the Rosemount Ice Arena
- Everyone within the Rosemount Ice Arena MUST wear a face covering at all times.
- Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in cancelled scrimmages/games and/or up to cancelling of future games/tournaments
- All games/scrimmages are available via www.livebarn.com

Please familiarize yourself with the rules and regulations BEFORE entering the facility.
- Spectators for games will be limited to two spectators per player. Exceptions will be made when needed for parents/guardians who must bring other children into the arena with them.
- Spectators for practices is limited to one per player during Return to Play Phase 5.
- Physical spacing of people not from the same household is highly recommended and spectators should only sit in designated spots. Do not congregate in the upper concourse of the Ice Arena, please keep this space as open as possible and follow social distancing guidelines.
- Athletes aged Squirt/10U & over should be dropped off for practices.
- Spectators enter through Door #3 (Upper Arena Doors) at game time.
- Spectators Exit will be through the upper arena concourse emergency doors. Parents should then drive around the back of the Ice Arena for player pickup near Door #4. Player pickup is near Door #4 (Lower Arena Doors) on the northwest side of the building. Spectators MUST exit no less than 5 minutes after the ice time. - Athletes, Coaches & Referees enter through Door #3 (Upper Arena Doors)
- Door #3 (Upper Arena Doors) will be locked until 15 minutes before ice time for GOALIES and until 10 minutes before ice time for skaters/coaches/referees and will be locked again 5 minutes after ice time begins. Example for a 5pm ice time: Door #3 will open at 4:45 p.m. for goalies and 4:50 p.m. for skaters/coaches/referees and then lock at 5:05 p.m.
- The doors will be locked while the group is skating to ensure a safe & clean environment.
- Players exit from the building will be through the lower arena doors (Door #4). Door #4 is located on the northwest side of the Rosemount Ice Arena.
- Coaches & referees can exit via Door #4 or exit by following the rink glass from floor level and go up and through the emergency doors at the top of the bleachers. If coach has a player, that player MUST still exit via Door #4.
- Per the state mandate, cloth face coverings must be worn by everyone inside an arena at all times. This includes participants during on-ice practice and game play.
- No equipment bags will be allowed in the facility, with the exception of goalies.
- All players must arrive fully dressed, with the exception of skates, helmet, and gloves, and are allowed a small drawstring bag or small backpack to carry in smaller items (medications, phones, keys, etc.) Goalies are allowed to arrive half dressed and bring a small bag.
- Dryland activities will not be allowed inside the arena.

- When will the doors open for groups? Door #3 (Upper Arena Doors) will be opened 10 minutes before ice time and then be locked again 5 minutes into the ice time. Example for a 5pm ice time. Door #3 (Upper Arena Doors) will open at 4:45 p.m. for goalies and 4:50 p.m. for skaters/coaches/referees and then lock at 5:05pm. - Why are there strict guidelines for when the building opens? To ensure the staff and athletes have a safe & clean environment. The more we can lesson the # of people in the facility and amount of time, the safer & cleaner our ice arena will remain for the athletes and staff.
- How soon do groups have to leave after ice time? All groups must leave the building within 10 minutes after ice time to allow staff to disinfect areas.
- Can an athlete have a chaperone in the building during a practice? One spectator is allowed per player during Phase 5. Spectators MUST adhere to social distancing guidelines. Athletes aged Squirt/10U and over should be dropped off for practices.
- How many players/coaches can be on the ice at one time? During this phase of the re-opening there can be two (2) pods of 25 skaters on the ice at one time. They should be limited as much as possible with no inter-mixing of skaters. A coach counts in the number of skaters.
- Are masks required of athletes, coaches and referees? Minnesota Department of Health mandates that all coaches/players wear a mask while on the ice.
- Can teams do dryland during this phase of re-opening? Teams are not allowed to do any dryland within the facility at this time.
- Can goalies come earlier than 10 minutes for ice time? Goalies can arrive 15 minutes before ice time in Phase 5. Players/coaches/referees can arrive 10 minutes before ice time in Phase 5.
- When are the touchpoints disinfected? Staff will disinfect all touchpoints every hour.
- When are the public areas disinfected? Staff will disinfect the public areas every hour and at the end of the day.
- Is the Rosemount Ice Arena going to offer Open Skate, Open Freestyle, Open Hockey, etc? During this phase of the re-opening we are going to offer these programs.
- Is the Rosemount Ice Arena going to offer Skate Sharpening? During this phase of the re-opening we are not offering skate sharpening services.
