The Rosemount City Council on June 20 appointed Brian Erickson to serve as the City’s Director of Public Works and City Engineer.
Erickson will be in charge of the department that provides a range of services to Rosemount, including engineering of City projects; maintenance of buildings, vehicles, streets, and parks; and operation of the City’s water and sewer utilities.
Fourteen applicants from around the country applied for the position. Interviews narrowed the selection to three finalists. City Administrator Logan Martin recommended to the Council the appointment of Erickson.
Erickson comes to Rosemount from the City of Mounds View, Minnesota, where he is the Public Works Director / City Engineer. He previously served as the Northfield Public Works Assistant Director. He was also a Commander in the U.S. Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps.
A licensed Professional Engineer, Erickson holds a Master’s in Structural Engineering from the University of Maryland, along with a Bachelor’s in Engineering Science from Iowa State University.
Erickson will join the City of Rosemount in mid-July.
